Plzeň (EN)

Pilsen is a modern and dynamic city in the western Bohemia, the fourth largest city in the Czech Republic, seat of administrative offices, cultural and social institutions. The city has 170,000 inhabitants, and about another 30,000 daily commute to Pilsen work and school. The overall metropolitan area has about 300,000 inhabitants.

The public transport in Pilsen is among one the most environmentally friendly urban transport systems in Europe. The city strongly supports technically oriented education at both levels, at the high schools and the university to support local companies to attract skilled workers.

University of West Bohemia is located in Pilsen, which provides education in technical and environmental sciences, and the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen of Charles University in Prague is also located there.
