Institute for Sustainability Studies (Stofnun Samundar fróda – ISS) is part of the University of Iceland. ISS is focusing on multidisciplinary research in the areas such as sustainable development, environment and natural resources, climate change adaptation, and environmental security.

Within the UrbanAdapt project, cooperation with ISS is ongoing particularly in the area of climate change related risks identification, knowledge sharing and good practice in the area of climate change adaptation, development of adaptation measures and strategies. ISS is participating in activities related to risk and vulnerability assessment.
